Men's Ministry

The Marines have a recruitment slogan that says they are "looking for a few good men".

God has a similar slogan that is found throughout the Bible that differs only slightly: God is looking for one good man! Consider the following verses:

"... the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart..." 1 Samuel 13:14 NIV

"I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap..." Ezekiel 22:30 NIV

"For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him." 2 Chronicles 16:9 NIV

Yes, God is looking for a godly man. There are plenty of males but it takes more to be a godly man than wearing pants with zippers in the front and a billfold in the pocket.
Lutheran Laymen's League

The primary source of mission for the men of Concordia is the Lutheran Laymen's League (LLL). The LLL is composed of members that have been confirmed in the Lutheran Church. They meet on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 8:00 a.m. for breakfast and Bible study. Once a year the LLL also sponsors a Steak Supper and sings on Lutheran Hour Sunday.

Camp Linn Haven at Linville, NC was originally purchased by the Carolinas Lutheran Laymen's League. It is a place of rest, relaxation, and inspiration. The LLL spends a weekend each year at the camp and also supports the camp financially.

Bible Study
Each Thursday morning a group of men meet at Catawba Valley Medical Center at 7:00 a.m. for breakfast and Bible study.  It is open to all men.

On Sunday mornings there is a Bible study just for men as well.  Sunday mornings, 9:30am in the School conference room.

Lutheran Hour Ministries is an outlet of the LLL which promotes broadcasts throughout the world with the message of Jesus Christ. This mission was started by the Lutheran Laymen's League under the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
